We just survived a very long and stressful month! So many events to host and prepare. We were understaffed and we`re just plain busy. We truly are grateful of all the people who volunteered and helped us though all of these. Money can`t even repay the time and effort that they have spent just to help us with all the preparations and all other things that need to be tended to.

Our events would not have been successful without those people who supported and helped us all the way!  Again, our deepest thanks to all of you!

Tidying up a small part of my work area

Finally had a day off after weeks of stressful events my workplace has been hosting.  Decided to spend the day catching up some sleep and tidying up my crafts area.

Look how messy and misplaced the papers and embellishments are……

Embellishments are all over the place

I really have to tame these embellishments that are just on the table.

So I decided to group them together according to design and color and put them in a clear zip locks

I grouped all that I used as layering, I also sorted our some of my die cuts and the cards I use as accent.

Then, I need to put back the paper to it’s proper area in order to clear the space and find new arrangement for my embellishments and other materials.

After some time of sorting and grouping of similar items together…..

Now, everything has it’s proper place and it’s now easier to look for the items I need to use.

The table is also cleared, giving me more space for my next project! Although, the change is not so drastic, it still gives of a better atmosphere for more project creations!

Crafter’s Mindset

All my friends know that I love crafts and I crafting. Though it`s time consuming, I still enjoy every process I need  to do to create a handmade piece. Some of my crafts I post and sell on social media. Sometimes I have bulk orders, sometimes nothing at all. Some items I sold, some items just sit on my craft area. My friends usually ask me how much do I make doing this things? frankly, not much but the answer is not the amount of income that I make, but how I make people feel.

I do crafts because I really enjoy doing it. It relaxes me because it is through crafts that I am able to just focus more on my art and on myself. I basically do crafts as gifts more than for income. Just looking at people’s positive reaction makes me feel fulfilled and all the effort and time spent is worth it. Others may not really understand how crafters work and think. But I guess, it’s all about the motivation that makes all the difference. Although we wish we could make more money out of it, but it’s not really that important, just my opinion at least for that matter.Maybe because I value people and relationships more than business. Just Like what Nike says, just do it!

A New Found Journey

Minions craft

I now have an official blog. But, aside from my deep interest with crafts, I actually don’t have a clue what else can I do with it. As I look and read around fellow crafter`s blogs I felt more inspired and encouraged. I get this feeling that blogs exist to encourage others of the same interests through sharing of knowledge and skills while others inspire people to take the challenge of discovering new ventures.

As for my first blog entry, I would like to share this simple craft that we made together with my students. It`s the first time that I used craft  during our class and that it`s when I discovered that kids really do enjoy doing things with their hand. Since then, my mode of teaching has changed and now I usually integrate lessons with crafts. Now, my students and I have much more to talk about, we learn together and share stories together. We have great time together and we often get surprised how time flies so fast, the next thing we know, the period is now over!

Crafting is not just a hobby but a way of communicating. It opens doors of self –expression and discovery, it is also a way of uplifting one`s self-esteem when one make`s a beautiful and interesting piece. So much more to talk about crafting, but with all the excitement and possibilities, I might as well pause here. Looking forward on this new found journey.
